I'm not fat at all - I swear, it's all fur!
As you can see from the photo below, the fur was even starting to block his peripheral vision.
I know where this is headed...sigh...
A couple hours and a lot of clipping later, I discovered THIS skinny little puppy hiding somewhere underneath...
Betcha don't recognize me now, heh heh!
I'm having a hard time getting used to his short look...oh well, it grows back fast! And a bonus -- right after a haircut, his hair goes from its normal soft texture to supersoft, like velvet. Fun!
Soft fur = more petting, right?

Alfie's new haircut is great, and your description really makes me want to pet him! :-)
Alfie's coat always looks nice in your blog photos, but I tend to prefer this trimmed up neat look on the couple of poodle-crosses I know.
Every time you cut him it reminds me of the Luck Dragon from Never Ending Story :)
OK Natalie, not having grown up in this country I had to look that up on Wikipedia...I almost died laughing, there's an uncanny resemblance!! Here's hoping Alfie brings luck wherever he goes! :-D
...and you're right L^2, he looks much "neater" now...
The no shedding does sound very appealing!
Adorable either way, but so very very adorable with the trim!
I think I would not know what to do with all the extra hours in the week not spent vacuuming if I had a dog (or two) that didn't shed! :)
He DOES look like the dragon on Never Ending Story! (That's such a strange movie, by the way.) I love Alfie's "skinny" look. Wish I could cut my hair and look like I lost a few LB's, too!
Love the new do Alfie! :D
